Terms and Conditions for Typeping
As of: September 2, 2026 – Draft for Austria/EU
**Courtesy translation.** This is a non-binding English translation of the German "Allgemeine Geschäftsbedingungen" ("AGB"). Only the German version is legally binding and prevails in case of any discrepancy; see Section 20. The German original is available at https://typeping.tv/agb.
These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") apply to the Typeping website, smartphone app and TV app, as well as to Typeping Premium. The current German version is available at https://typeping.tv/agb.
1. Provider and contact
Typeping is offered by:
Typeping, Austria
Email: service@typeping.tv
Where the Stripe checkout for a Premium purchase displays "Sold through Link", Sold through Link, LLC is the merchant of record and therefore the seller and contracting party for the paid transaction. Typeping remains the provider of the digital service and the contact for product-related or technical questions.
2. Scope
These Terms govern the use of Typeping by consumers habitually resident in the European Economic Area (EEA). Consumers are persons for whom the transaction is not part of their trade or business. Typeping is not currently offered to business customers. Deviating terms apply only with our express consent. Mandatory consumer rights remain unaffected.
For Premium purchases, the terms shown in the Stripe checkout by Sold through Link and Link additionally apply. In case of conflict, mandatory law and, for the paid transaction, the mandatory terms of sale of the merchant of record take precedence.
3. Features and plans
Typeping in particular enables you to:
• create and manage a Typeping account;
• connect compatible smartphones, browsers and TV devices;
• transmit text input and supported remote-control commands to connected TV devices;
• manage devices and input sessions;
• receive optional push notifications.
The free plan currently allows one active TV device. Premium allows an unlimited number of active TV devices and includes the further Premium features described immediately before purchase. The description of features shown on the web immediately before ordering is always decisive.
Compatible devices, a supported operating system, an internet connection and, for a Premium subscription, a Link account are required. Typeping does not replace a full physical remote control. Individual features may be limited by TV model, operating system, input field or third-party app.
4. Registration and minimum age
An account is required for core functions. Typeping may only be used by persons who are at least 18 years old. By registering, you confirm that you meet this age requirement.
You must provide accurate and current information when registering. Login credentials must be kept confidential. Suspected misuse must be reported to us without delay. You may only create an account for yourself, or for another person or organization with appropriate authorization.
5. Free services
The contract for free features is formed once you complete registration and we activate the account or otherwise enable use. The presentation of Typeping in an app store or on the website is not yet a binding offer.
6. Premium, pricing and formation of contract
Typeping Premium is available as a monthly or annual subscription and renews automatically. Sale and payment take place exclusively on the web via Stripe Managed Payments. Premium subscriptions are not sold or billed within the mobile apps or app stores.
Immediately before you place an order, the Stripe checkout shows the specific total price including applicable taxes, currency, billing period, scope of services, terms of automatic renewal and cancellation, and the available payment methods. This information is binding for the respective order.
A free 14-day trial is offered for a new Premium subscription. A payment method must be provided in the Stripe checkout already at the start of the trial. The price that applies after the trial and the chosen monthly or annual billing period are shown before the trial begins. If the subscription is not cancelled before the trial ends, the paid billing period begins automatically and the payment method on file is charged the displayed amount. Before the trial ends, Stripe or Link will send a reminder in accordance with statutory and card-network requirements. Cancellation during the trial is done via **Typeping Web → Account → Subscription management → Cancel subscription**. The trial period may be used only once per person and Typeping account, unless the checkout expressly states otherwise.
By clicking the clearly labelled order button, you make a binding offer to Sold through Link. The contract for the paid transaction is formed on the terms shown in the checkout. Stripe or Sold through Link typically provides the contract and payment confirmation by email and in the Link account on a durable medium.
7. Term and automatic renewal
The subscription runs for the billing period selected in the checkout. Where automatic renewal was agreed there, it renews for the displayed period each time until effectively cancelled. The next price and charge date are shown in the Link account.
Price changes do not apply retroactively. Changes for future renewals are announced in accordance with statutory requirements and the terms of Sold through Link. Where consent is required, the subscription will not continue at the changed price without that consent.
8. Payment and invoices
Payment processing, tax calculation and remittance, payment receipts, refunds and transaction-related support are handled via Stripe Managed Payments under the name "Sold through Link". Only the payment methods offered in the checkout are available. The charge may appear on your statement as `LINK.COM*TYPEPING` or a comparable descriptor.
In the event of a failed payment, chargeback or payment default, Premium access may be suspended in accordance with the checkout terms and mandatory law.
9. Ordinary cancellation of the subscription
You may cancel the subscription at any time, effective at the end of the current, already-paid billing period. The designated cancellation route is exclusively:
Typeping Web → Account → Subscription management → Cancel subscription.
Subscription management opens the area provided by Link where the cancellation is confirmed. Ordinary cancellation by email to Typeping is not offered and is not processed by Typeping. Mandatory statutory rights, and declarations for which mandatory law permits a different form or recipient, remain unaffected.
After cancellation, Premium generally remains usable until the end of the already-paid period. After that, the account is downgraded to the free plan. Surplus TV connections may then be deactivated.
Deleting the app or the Typeping account does not automatically end the subscription. Cancel it via subscription management before deleting the account.
10. Right of withdrawal for consumers
For a contract concluded at a distance, consumers generally have the statutory right to withdraw within 14 days without giving reasons. The period generally begins on the day the contract is concluded. The binding withdrawal notice, the correct recipient of the declaration, and a legally required model withdrawal form are provided by Sold through Link immediately before purchase and with the contract confirmation.
Because Sold through Link is the seller and merchant of record for a Stripe Managed Payments purchase, withdrawal for that transaction must be declared to Sold through Link via the channel indicated in the contract confirmation, the Link account, or Link support. Refunds and transaction-related processing are handled by Stripe or Sold through Link. Typeping does not accept withdrawal declarations for these transactions and does not process manual refunds.
At your express request, Premium may already be provided during the withdrawal period. If you effectively withdraw after the service has begun, a proportionate fee for the service provided up to withdrawal may apply under the statutory requirements. The right of withdrawal lapses only under the mandatory statutory conditions. The notice given in the checkout and on a durable medium is decisive.
11. Permitted use
Typeping may only be used lawfully and as intended. In particular, the following are prohibited: unauthorized access to other users' accounts, devices or sessions; circumventing security or plan limits; transmitting unlawful content or malware; use to harass or surveil third parties; and resale without our consent. Mandatory statutory rights to interoperability or error correction remain unaffected.
Where there is a concrete suspicion of misuse, we may take proportionate protective measures and temporarily suspend access. For a remediable violation, we will generally provide an opportunity to remedy it.
12. Availability, maintenance and changes
We strive for high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free use. Maintenance, security measures, internet or platform outages, and technical limitations of compatible devices may affect use.
We provide necessary security and functionality updates for the statutorily owed period. Typeping may be changed for valid reasons, in particular to improve it, for security, or to adapt to operating systems, technical environments or legal requirements. Material adverse changes are communicated in good time; statutory rights to terminate the contract remain unaffected.
13. Warranty
Statutory warranty rights apply, in particular for digital services. In the event of a defect, consumers may first demand that the defect-free condition be restored. Price reduction or termination of the contract may be available under the statutory requirements. A voluntary refund does not limit these rights.
14. Liability
We are liable without limitation for damages caused intentionally or by gross negligence, for personal injury, and under mandatory product liability law. Mandatory liability claims of consumers remain unaffected.
Typeping is not liable for disruptions outside our sphere of influence, to the extent we are not responsible for them. Mandatory statutory consumer rights remain unaffected.
15. Rights to Typeping and to user input
Typeping, the software, design, trademarks and provided content are legally protected. For the duration of the contract, you receive a simple, non-transferable right to use Typeping as intended.
We do not acquire any content-related rights of use in the text you transmit. You grant us only the rights required for the technical transmission, limited in time accordingly.
16. Data protection
Information on the processing of personal data is contained in the Privacy Policy at https://typeping.tv/data-privacy. It is not part of these Terms.
17. Account deletion and termination of free services
You may terminate the free-use contract at any time by deleting your account in the smartphone app under **Account → Permanently delete account**, or in the web app under **Account & Subscription → Permanently delete account**. Data protection requests can additionally be sent to privacy@typeping.tv.
A Premium subscription must first be ended under **Account → Subscription management → Cancel subscription**. Deleting the account alone does not end the subscription managed by Sold through Link. After termination, data is deleted in accordance with the Privacy Policy; data that must be retained by law remains stored under a restricted-access hold for the required period.
We may terminate free services with 30 days' notice. Either party's right to terminate immediately for good cause remains unaffected.
18. Changes to these Terms
For ongoing paid contracts, we will only change these Terms for a valid reason and to the extent the change is reasonable. Material adverse changes are communicated in good time on a durable medium. Where legally required, we obtain your consent. Without the required consent, the previous terms continue to apply until the end of the current billing period, or a right of termination is granted.
19. Governing law and dispute resolution
Austrian law applies, excluding its conflict-of-laws rules and the UN Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods (CISG). This choice of law does not deprive consumers of the protection of mandatory provisions of the law of their country of habitual residence. The statutory venues apply.
We are neither obliged nor willing to participate in dispute resolution proceedings before a consumer arbitration board, except where a statutory obligation exists in an individual case. For disputes concerning the paid transaction, the support and dispute-resolution channels specified by Sold through Link additionally apply.
20. Final provisions
Should a provision of these Terms be invalid, the remaining provisions remain valid. For consumers, the invalid provision is replaced by the applicable statutory rule. **The language of the contract is German, and the German version of these Terms is the sole legally binding version; this English translation is provided for convenience only and, in case of any conflict or ambiguity, the German text prevails.** Order and contract information is provided by Sold through Link in the Link account and in the contract confirmation; these Terms can be saved and printed at https://typeping.tv/agb.
